LOCTITE® 8060™ Formerly known as LOCTITE® TIGHT® February -2007 PRODUCT DESCRIPTION LOCTITE® 8060™ provides the following product characteristics: Technology Acrylic Chemical Type Dimethacrylate ester Appearance (uncured) blue Components One component - requires no mixing Viscosity Gel Application Sealing or Retaining Cure Anaerobic LOCTITE® 8060™ is an all purpose gel that locks, seals and retains threaded joints. It can lock nuts, bolts, screws and studs and can lock adjusting screws in any position, thread 1/8 inch to 1-1/2 inches. It also retains bearing, holds pins and bushings, and seals pipe threads and flanges. This product is economical by the fact that a small amount does the work of a lock washer, set screw or locking nut. LOCTITE® 8060™ converts to an insoluble hard plastic after assembly that resists most chemicals, liquids and gases. The product allows for disassembly with standard hand tools. It can be used in temperature areas up to 148°C. For best results, clean all bond surfaces with a LOCTITE® cleaner/degreaser and allow to dry 2. Apply LOCTITE® 8060™ to threads in a manner which will result in the product covering and filling the spaces between other close fitting metal parts to be locked or sealed 3. At 23°C parts will be locked within 30 minutes or generally sooner and will be cured within 24 hours 2. For Disassembly 1. In rare instances where hand tools do not work because of excessive engagement length, apply localized heat to nut or bolt to approximately 204°C.
